Dr. Mishkat Al Moumin
Founder
Areas of expertise: environmental laws, policies, post-conflict situations, and good governance.
An environmental and women’s right advocate who lived and worked in the many Middle Eastern countries including Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. Dr. Al Moumin worked as an Attorney representing women for seven years in Iraq. As an Assistant Professor, she taught human rights at the University of Baghdad; School of law. In June of 2004, Dr. Al Moumin was selected to serve as the first Minister of the Environment. Dr. Al Moumin taught at George Mason University and Johns Hopkins University. As a Consultant, she offered her expert opinion regarding environmental laws, policies, post-conflict situations, and good governance.
Professor Jamal Abaychi
Area of expertise: Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessment
Professor Abaychi has extensive experience in Iraq and has been involved with various Ministries and academia. He has completed numerous projects related to restoration of the southern marshlands of Iraq including hydrological, environmental, and social components as well as advanced baseline investigations for ecology, archaeology, and socioeconomic components of an Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment.

Elisa D. Wilkinson
Areas of expertise: EU biodiversity policies
Elisa has recently earned her Master’s from the School of International Service at the American University in Washington DC. Prior to joining WATEO, Elisa, researched EU biodiversity policy at Landmark Europe, an EU policy consulting firm. Elisa's long term goal is to work for international environmental organization in the EU.
Jeremey Alcorn
Areas of expertise: state fragility, environmental security, and climate security
A research fellow at Logistics Management Institute (LMI). His current efforts include conducting policy and technical research on state fragility, environmental security, and climate security for the Army Environmental Policy Institute, studying the defense community’s use of alternative fuels and renewable energy, and serving as subject matter expert on energy, greenhouse gas (GHG), and sustainability management for public sector agencies.
